didn`t` much like the first episode, but was giving it a chance, half way through the second episode, switched it off. Cant believe that there is nothing what so ever endearing about a single character.A blonde Time Lord from bloody Yorkshire, its all just so implausible, not watching any more. Well done the cretins at the BBC .

Having watched Dr Who since the very first episode I will not be watching the latest series. This is political correctness gone mad. Yes I am female and no I don’t want to see a female Doctor I want to see a male Doctor. Get back to basics and get Dr Who back on track

So having had time to consider the direction that the show I love has taken I consider these . Firstly the new showrunner Chris Chibnall had decided he wanted a female as the next incarnation of the Dr so this direction was where the show was always going He has picked a top draw actress to portray the part I only shake my head on some of the choices Miranda Hart or Sue Perkins to name but two The show is about change if it wasn’t it wouldn’t have lasted for this amount of time good luck to Jodie on her new venture I want to see how she portrays the Dr before being critical especially as she hasn’t started filming as yet as long as the writing is good as is the production that’s the key and maybe the show has to be more inclusive for fans and non fans as much as I love all the nods to the past and the history to does alienate the casual and first time viewer and when the show was relaunched in 2005 it just concentrated on the story and thus built up a new fanbase in a nutshell I am excited to see how the show is developed finally I would like to thank both Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat for all their work and efforts and wish them all the best in their new ventures

You’re right! If we needed any proof that Doctor Who isn’t what it was under Davies all we have to do is look at the comment section on this page where it shows “most comments.” The River Song question got over 700. A historical moment like a “female” Doctor story has yet to get 20 comments. The truth is…. Nobody cares. Well, almost no one. Which if you think about it feels so much worse.

@Steve I think The Corsair was the first Time Lord mentioned as being able to regenerate from man to woman and back again in The Doctor's Wife, right? ... Always having the same tattoo done with each regeneration. It sort of retrospectively added in to Doctor Who history that a Time Lord can change genders, as the Doctor clearly knew him/her before The Last Great Time War.

@Ian Do you know your Doctor Who – I suspect not when you consider Colin Baker has images of himself on the interest in the nude! Peter Davison has appeared on screen nearly naked. Jon Pertwee appeared in Doctor Who naked! Even Matt Smith has appeared on screen naked! Kind of blows the Mail crap right out of the water!!!

On the new Doctor – Can I just point out that it has only been under Moffat that Time-Lords can change sex! Now every regeneration it male to female. Never in it’s history has this happened before, The reality is it is too little and too late. Yes, I am well aware JL did the spoof for Comic Relief and there is a female Doctor Who for big finish but no in main stream. Also I am aware Moffat has brought BF Doctor Who in as main stream but not the Unbound Universe. Personally I will give her a chance before I make a comment. The last 5 years under Moffat has virtually destroyed Doctor Who anyway. She could save the show.
