Freema Agyeman has addressed the recent rumours regarding Martha’s return in David Tennant’s last episode, as well as the reports that suggested the character will be getting married to Mickey Smith in the story too.
Speaking to DigitalSpy recently, the actress, who played the Doctor’s fiesty companion in Series 3 and 4 of the programme, commented on the tabloid speculation, but was careful not to let any potential spoilers slip.
“You know I can’t confirm or deny anything,” she teased. “There’s always things put out there - some true, some not, and some things that never get out until the day you’re seeing it, which is rare. I will say… just watch!”
When asked about what she thought of Karen Gillan being cast as the new companion in Series 5, she said: “I think she looks great! She’s rocking the Rose look, she’s got the Catherine hair, she’s Scottish like David… we love her! She’s part of the family now.”
She added: “I know there are going to be children and adults out there who will always associate me with Martha Jones, and that’s absolutely fine. Actually, I welcome it, because [the show] changed my life, and it’ll never be something that I’ll think I need to brush off.”

Actress Sinead Keenan will appear in David Tennant’s final two-parter at the end of the year, it has been confirmed.
Keenan’s casting was announced by SFX, who recieved the word from her agent. She’ll be best known for her portrayal of Nina in Being Human, in which she starred alongside Russell Tovey, who previously appeared in the 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned.
Toby Whithouse, the creator of Being Human, told SFX: “Russell T Davies would email me after every single episode, going, ‘I’m loving it!’”
He added: “He absolutely fell in love with Sinead who plays Nina. So he’s given her a part in David Tennant’s last two parter.”

The Tenth Doctor’s regeneration finale will see all of his companions tieing the knot, according to a report in The Sun today.
While we already know that the majority of his companions will be back in some shape or form in the special, the tabloid has taken it one step further today by claiming that they’ll all be getting married too.
Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, will be seen marrying the half-human Other Doctor on the parallel world, as Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) prepares to marry Rose’s ex Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke) back on our Universe (what’s happened to Martha’s previous partner Tom Milligan…?) The report also claims that the Doctor is at the top of Sarah Jane’s guest list for her wedding in the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
As always, treat this news with a pinch of salt!

After 5 long months of night-shoots and day-shoots and desert-shoots and rain-shoots, filming for the 2009 Specials comes to an end this week, and David Tennant filmed his last ever scene in role as the Tenth Doctor yesterday afternoon.
It’s a sad time for Tennant fanboys and girls across the land - never again will the man who’s brought us so much joy over the past 4 years be seen out on location in Cardiff shooting through the night.
But of course, he’s still very much the Time Lord until he hands over the TARDIS to Matt Smith later this year, so even though Tennant’s time on Doctor Who has reached its end, we’ve still got 3 more hours with the Tenth Doctor to enjoy over the coming months - and we can’t wait!
We’d just like to say a big THANK YOU to David, and let’s not forget Russell T Davies and everybody else (be it cast, crew or Dalek!) for all of their tremendous efforts over the past few years. And as a new era of the show gets set to commence in a few weeks time, we’ll look back and think… well, where did all the time go?! But, and this comes from the bottom of our hearts, we really, really, truly ‘wouldn’t have missed it for the world’!

Producers are so desperate to keep the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration episode a secret that they’ve filmed several alternative endings to keep fans guessing right up until the very end, the Daily Star claims.
According to the tabloid, only one of David Tennant and Billie Piper’s recent scenes will make it to the final cut; the others were red herrings to ensure the plot doesn’t leak too early.
“How the Doctor goes out is a secret - even to him,” an ‘insider’ told the newspaper. “There are a few possibilities being filmed and the final one will be chosen later.”
Alternative regeneration endings - a good idea?
- Definitely! They could all be included as boxset extras!!! (73.0%, 55 Votes)
- Nah, just more tabloid speculation... (15.0%, 11 Votes)
- Would they really go through that much effort? (9.0%, 7 Votes)
- Meh. I think it's a waste of money. (3.0%, 2 Votes)

Doctor Who fans up and down the land rejoiced last night (we personally screamed for hours and played Because We Want To at the highest volume possible!) when Billie Piper was spotted on set filming scenes for David Tennant’s last episode.
The actress was pictured filming in South London as Rose Tyler, with Camille Coduri, who plays her mother, Jackie. They were shooting scenes at the location used for their council estate, the Powell Estate, in Series 1 and 2.
David Tennant was also spotted on set, and while crew members asked fans who were lucky enough to watch the filming first hand to refrain from taking pictures and posting what they saw online, we’ve managed to put together a short description of what we think was going on. Highlight below to reveal, but please be aware that it contains HUGE spoilers for the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration story.
- Based on what has been posted online, we can safely assume that the scenes being shot with Billie aren’t set in the present day, and dialogue that was heard suggests that it’s instead set in 2005 (January 1st 2005, perhaps?) - before Rose had even met the Doctor
- One of the scenes filmed featured the Doctor and Rose, and saw the Doctor ‘clutching onto the wall in apparant distress’ (has he regeneration started?), and Rose walking over and asking ‘You alright, mate?’, which just about confirms that in this particular scene, Rose has no idea who the man is!
Whatever’s going on, it’s certainly very exciting, and it’s clear that Russell is pulling out all the stops to make both his and David’s last episode the biggest and most intriguing to date…
Is it December yet?
Feel free to leave your own theories and ideas about Rose’s scenes below, but stay away if you don’t want to be spoiled! You have been warned!

The Sun has reported that actor Timothly Dalton will guest star in David Tennant’s last episode.
Dalton, who is famous for his portrayal of James Bond back in the 1980s, has reportedly been flown over to Cardiff from LA to film scenes for the Tenth Doctor’s final adventure. It’s been claimed that the actor will play a ‘baddie’ in the story, which will transmit on BBC One and BBC HD over the Christmas and New Year period.
“Timothy Dalton is a big coup for Doctor Who because he’s pretty iconic,” an insider told the tabloid. “He’s in the UK right now and is shooting scenes over the next few weeks.”
They added: “It’s a good gig for him as it will be one of the most memorable episodes yet.”
As always with stories such as this, take the rumour with a pinch of salt until there’s any official word from the BBC!

A few days ago, John Barrowman was spotted in Cardiff filming a scene for this year’s Doctor Who finale, confirming his return as Captain Jack Harkness for David Tennant’s last episode. Or so we thought…
The man himself has since denied the fact his character will be making a comeback at some point in the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration story, simply claiming that a picture was taken of him whilst he was out shopping in Tesco’s (wearing his Captain Jack costume!) and superimposed onto a different background to make it look like he was busy at work on location.
“I hate to burst your bubble,” he told DigitalSpy. “But I do have my own Captain Jack outfit, and all my fans know I do. I have everything. And that actually was me, coming out of Tesco. Running to my car.”
He added: “They just superimposed me in a different sequence because it’s newsworthy. And I tell you the honest to God truth, I haven’t seen a script. I have no clue what everyone’s talking about.”
No doubt he’s trying his darn hardest to keep what happens in the finale tightly under wraps, despite the fact he was seen arriving and leaving on set by eagle-eyed fans who were also present at the time…
God bless the Barrowman! Who knows what he’ll come out with next? Probably another album, actually…
admin Final Specials, John Barrowman
It will come as no shock to most of you to hear that John Barrowman has been spotted filming on location for David Tennant’s last episodes.
This means Captain Jack can be added to the list of Companions Returning For The Tenth Doctor’s Regeneration, along with Donna (Catherine Tate), Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen), Wilf (Bernard Cribbins), as well as Luke (Tommy Knight) and Sylvia Noble (Jacqueline King).
Meanwhile, Russell Tovey was also seen on set earlier today, confirming that he’ll be reprising his role of Alonso Frame from Voyage of the Damned.
As well as that, the Slitheen and Graske, and red and white people and men dressed as monks, were about, sparking rumours that the scene being filmed is set at the Shadow Proclomation, a scene that was originally written for The Stolen Earth but was cut out due to budget reasons.
So that just leaves Freema Agyeman and Billie Piper, and with every other member of the Children of Time already confirmed to be returning, and with just over 3 weeks of filming left, will we be seeing any exterior shooting with Martha and Rose on set? Only time will tell…
Thanks to Scooty of the Doctor Who Forum for the Barrowman image!
