Everybody’s favourite tabloid, The Sun, has revealed two actors who will be appearing in the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

According to the report, ex-Corrie star Suranne Jones will be guest-starring in one of the six upcoming adventures. Although who she’ll be playing in the Doctor Who spin off is being kept tightly under wraps until transmission, it’s thought that she’ll be portraying the historical figure of Mona Lisa…

“We conceived the character in a story meeting about 18 months ago and immediately named Suranne as perfect to play her – never imagining we’d actually get someone who’s in so much demand,” producer Nikki Wilson told the newspaper. “But as soon as she saw the script she said yes.”

Meanwhile, Jeff Rawle, who Harry Potter fans will recognise as Amos Diggory, will also be appearing in the new series, which is expected to kick off on BBC One, and, for the first time, BBC HD next month.
