Aw…
… why couldn’t I have landed a role in Doctor Who at age 9? Or at age 16, for that matter?
Caitlin’s my fiance’s daughter, she’ll be absolutely fab! He’s beaming like a cheshire cat with pride!
Tell her we look forward to seeing her on screen!
@Jacqui
aye he would be if he made the effort to see her every once in a while - it’s a shame when people like you cling on to the coat tails of someones success, especially since you wouldn’t give her the time of day when she wasn’t on dr who. It’s disgusting.
I think it is a very bad thing. I remember the days when the BBC refused to allow family to take part in competitions. These days, the BBC has become so arrogant, they do what they like and mostly get away with it. I couldn’t believe Blue Peter shame over competition fixing!
Apparantly she is playing 9 year old Amy Pond, whom the Doctor visits before recruiting the modern-day Amy as his assistant! Cool, eh?
Love it when people try to turn a wee girls success into some personal attack on something then know something of, don’t be so rediculous and focus on the fact that Caitlin is going to be a fab wee actress of her own right!
Well whatever the backstory, we wish her well and cant wait to see her on screen!
If she is playing the young Amy, then it would make sense to use someone who looks like Karen, and a relative clearly will.
I remember the young girl from Silence in the Library, her auntie posted on DigitalSpy and kept us updated on how she was doing, and she was great in the show. I have no doubt that Caitlin will be too!
She probably only got the part because she was related to Gillan, but i dont see the problem with that, especially if she’s playing a younger version of her cousin as they’ve got to have similarities. They did the very same thing in ‘HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE’ when the nephew of the bloke who played Voldemort played the role as the young Tom Riddle. I reckon shes going to be fine.
