Richard Curtis has revealed the identity of the actor who will be playing the role of Vincent Van Gogh in his upcoming episode of Doctor Who.

Earlier this year, the BBC announced that the acclaimed writer would be penning a single story for Series 5, which would feature the Eleventh Doctor and his companion, Amy Pond, encountering one of the most famous artists of all time.

And during a recent interview with Bullz-eye, Curtis confirmed that the actor who has been cast as Van Gogh is (spoiler alert - highlight to reveal!) Tony Curran.

Filming for the episode is due to commence next month.
