NTAs: Doctor Who wins Most Popular Drama!

January 20th, 2010

waters-explosionDoctor Who has been named the Most Popular Drama at this year’s National Television Awards, continuing a tradition dating back to its revival back in 2005.

As previously reported, the series was up against Casualty (BBC), Shameless (Channel 4) and The Bill (ITV) in the category, but, naturally, the best programme in the cosmos managed to reign supreme at tonight’s ceremony!

While accepting the award, Bernard Cribbins (Wilfred Mott) said: “This is absolutely wonderful and I know how pleased [David Tennant] must be, because he’s been at it for four years.”

He added: “I think everybody who’s involved with Doctor Who will be just as pleased as he is.”

Everybody here at WhovianNet would just like to congratule all involved with Doctor Who for their well-deserved achievement!

Congratulations,Doctor Who. David looked chuffed! But seriously, the past four years have been amazing and David Tennant will be sorely missed. Well done! :)

All I can say is… in a sea of the mediocre and the dumbed-down rubbish winning awards – amongst a show that felt like one huge advert for The X Factor – thank heavens for Doctor Who and David.

    Massive congratulations!
