Reports of new UK monster stage show tour
A brand new Doctor Who stage show featuring various monsters and foes from the series is set to tour the UK later this year, The Scotsman reports.
According to the article, the arena show, which will stop off in nine cities, will include special effects as well as new pre-recorded footage of Matt Smith as the Doctor. In addition, live peformances from the likes of the Daleks and the Cybermen will be accompanied by a live orchestra, conducted by series composer Murray Gold.
The newspaper quotes Gold as saying: “The live element always adds something extra, but these will also be brand new arrangements for a new band of very talented musicians”, while showrunner Steven Moffat adds: “This is everything I ever wanted since I was 11. A live show, with all the coolest Doctor Who monsters, a proper story, and brand new screen material.” We’ll keep you updated with the latest, as we get it!
sounds good!
Not sure this is a good thing really. Doctor Who has a long history but recent exhibitions ignore anything pre 2005. As for Murray Gold, he has gone right down in my estimation with the worse ever version of the theme! It’s a hell of a lot worse than the Trial of a Timelord theme!
