Steven Moffat on Big Bangs, arcs and Christmas
In preparation for The Big Bang, Steven Moffat has spoken to DigitalSpy about the anticipated series finale.

During the interview, the showrunner seemingly suggests that, in a break to the tradition, the title of this year’s Christmas special won’t be revealed at the end of Saturday night’s episode. He reveals: ”We won’t be telling you anything, not a single thing. It’s too early.”
Regarding Series 6, he said: “I’ve got lots of plans - plans are not nearly as useful as scripts, I find – so I’d like to have more scripts and fewer plans. We’re not quite as ahead of the game as we were last time. But it’s fine.” When pressed on the possibility of Russell T Davies returning to write for the series in the future, he admits: “I’d love to get him, it would be just joyous to get him back because I miss him,” but notes that, understandably, ”he possibly wants to get away from it for a bit”.
The series finale airs this Saturday at 18:05 on BBC1/HD. 2 days to go!
Full marks to Steven for keeping his cards close to his chest.Much as I am nosy,I do like surprises sometimes!.
@Neil
same. if there are spoilers available i can’t resist, but i would prefer it if there wasn’t any, even go as far as no advert for the next episodes. I mean, imagine going into the end of time not knowing the master would be returning? the shock would make it better. I mean, they can’t keep everything a secret though, it would be impossible.
good, not RTD style anymore
There was nothing wrong with RTD’s style. It did what it aimed..that was to introduce a new generation for doctor who (including me). Aww I always liked the christmas title revealed at the end of each series (except 4). I even loved the ‘what? What? WHAT??’ building up the xmas special.
On another note, its nice that Moffat actually has respect for RTD and values him. I always got the feeling Moffat never rated Russell.
