Matt Smith prepares for “soaring” Prom experience
With the Doctor Who Prom set to fill the Royal Albert Hall with the sounds and songs of the Universe this weekend, Matt Smith – who will be presenting the concerts alongside co-stars Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill – has revealed that he’s nervous about taking to the stage as its host.
“Utterly nerve-wracking,” he admitted, adding: ”I think that Murray Gold is incredible, totally incredibly – a genius - and to hear all that in the Royal Albert Hall will just be one of the most soaring experiences.”
Meanwhile, the BBC has confirmed that 1,000 standing tickets will be available to buy on the day, and that the show, which is broadcasting live on BBC Radio 3 on Saturday from 19:30, will also be aired on BBC3 and BBC HD in ‘early September’.
You can see details of its recently unveiled running order here. Not long to go now!
I think the atmosphere would be much better with three presenters rather than just one and a few random appearances like in 2008. Hopefully, Alex Kingston makes an appearance, though!
Also, the biggest mystery of the event: will Matt be wearing Eleven’s new tweed jacket, or not?
