Both Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures are up for the ‘Best Family Drama’ gong, while Matt Smith’s role as the Eleventh Doctor has won him a nomination for the ‘Best Actor’ award. Also in the running, amongst others, are Christopher Eccleston (The Shadow Line), David Tennant (Single Father) and John Simm (Exile).
Elsewhere, Karen Gillan is included in the ‘Best Actress’ category for her peformance as Amy Pond. Other familiar faces up for the title are Freema Agyeman (Law & Order: UK), Alex Kingston (Marchlands) and Suranne Jones (Scott & Bailey), and the late Elisabeth Sladen is also on the list for her portrayal of Sarah Jane in The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Voting will close on Friday 10th June, so get clicking! After that, voting will reopen when the final shortlist is announced. The results ceremony will take place on 13th September.
At last year’s ceremony, Doctor Who won for Best Family Drama. Will it do it again?
i hope doctor who take home all the awards they r up for
I didn’t vote for best actor because I couldn’t choose between Matt Smith, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Eccleston, and David Tennant.
Voted Lis Sladen for best actress though. It would be lovely if she wins that category.
Best Actor: Matt Smith
Best Actress: ELIZABETH SLADEN!!!
Come on people, if any one in teh Doctor Who family deserves this, Liz does! No one has done more to put the companion on the map!
