Matt Smith has revealed that he hopes to continue exploring new territories for the Doctor.

Speaking to FEARnet at Comic Con, the actor explained: “The part of the Doctor should always be evolving, with any actor that plays it. I really hope that from last series to this series, people can see a progession, and next year, going into the 50th anniversary, hopefully it will progess to another level with a new territory for the Doctor.” He recently said he also wants the 50th anniversary to be “unique” .

Steven Moffat has told fans that the BBC has “extensive” plans for the landmark year.
