Doctor Who Adventures has been nominated for a Maggies Award.

The prestigious awards celebrate the best magazine cover artwork of the past year, and Doctor Who Adventures, featuring the Doctor with a Dalek, is one of 40 covers to have made it to the shortlist for its “bright and bold” design. Public voting is now open, and you can vote now at the official Maggies website, here. It faces competition from Radio Times, Autosport and How it Works.

Voting closes at midnight on 20/06/10. Everybody who votes will recieve a £2.50 gift voucher, which can be used at iSUBSCRiBE to redeem on any of the 1,350 magazine and newspaper subscriptions, including Doctor Who Adventures.

BBC Worldwide have issued a press release containing details of the upcoming regeneration of Doctor Who Adventures!

Issue #160, published Thursday 1st April, will be the first edition of the magazine to boast the new look and, with the broadcast of The Eleventh Hour just two days away, it’ll be packed with lots of new series content, including the first in a series of exclusive diary reports from the new Doctor himself, Matt Smith!

It will come with a free TARDIS clock, and inside there’ll be a preview of the first episode as well as the chance to win a life-size Dalek.

New weekly features of the magazine include ‘Fast Facts’, and the introduction of a secret code which invites readers to uncover series facts and information that are hidden throughout the pages. Comics, posters and quizzes will be returning.

“The new look Doctor Who Adventures magazine will prepare all young Doctor Who fans for the arrival of the Eleventh Doctor and his new companion Amy,” said Editor of Doctor Who Adventures, Moray Laing. “With Matt’s contributions, our new and exclusive content will keep all of our regular and new readers up to date with the latest Time Lord travels.”
