June Whitfield discusses upcoming Doctor Who role

August 17th, 2009

june_whitfieldJune Whitfield has spoken briefly to the California Chronicle about the character she’ll be playing in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Specials.

Whitfield, who shot to fame back in the 1950s in the radio comedy series Take It From Here, will be appearing in the festive episodes as Minnie Hooper. But the veteran actress is remaining tight-lipped about just what her role will entail in the story that will mark the end of David Tennant’s tenure as the Tenth Doctor…

“I can’t say too much about it,” she said. ”But I’m not an alien or anything like that. It was tremendous fun to do.”

The Tenth Doctor’s last adventure is a two-parter, with one of the instalments rumoured to be called The End of Time. The anticipated episodes will air at the end of the year – and they can’t come quickly enough! Stick with us!
