BBC confirm title & synopsis for first Adventure Game!
The BBC has today released the title and plot details for the first instalment of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games!
City of the Daleks follows the Doctor and Amy Pond as the TARDIS materializes in 1963, where they find London in ruins. The Daleks have seized control of time and the only chance of saving Earth lies in a desperate quest to Skaro, the Daleks’ home planet, before time catches up with Amy, the last survivor of the human race. It will feature the Doctor’s first ever visit to the Dalek capital city, Kaalann.
Its co-writer, Phil Ford, said: “This is quite a series opener. We destroy London even before the credits role – so you can only begin to imagine where we travel to from there. City of the Daleks is as big-budget as you can imagine: from London we head to Kaalann, the capital city of the Daleks, one constructed from pure anger and hate. And these new Daleks don’t like to be messed with, so players are about to enjoy a new interactive episode which is as heart-pulsing as anything you’ve seen before.”
City of the Daleks will be available to download from the official website from 5th June.
1963. What a completely random year, with no significance whatsoever.
I’m a bit confused, as good as this sounds. In Season 3 of the revived series, wasn’t it said that Skaro had been destroyed in the Last Great Time War?………if so, how can the Doctor and Amy go to Skaro?
Other than that, I’m looking forward to these games, they’re sounding good.
@JC And how can the Doctor and Amy suddenly find 1963 London in ruins? Get some perspective.
Despite your rudeness, you have a point, but I’d imagine recovering London would be easier than recovering an entire planet lost during the time-locked Time War.
It is just a computer game though, so they can do what they want. I think I’m going to have trouble considering these as officially ‘cannon’, which is what they seem to be saying these should be looked at as. I mean, it’s a computer game for Gods sake!!
@JC
Skaro was destroyed before the time war in Remembrance of The Daleks.
@JC
Mmm… I’ve forgotten who it was, but one of the companions once protested that “we know the world doesn’t end in 1911. I’m proof!” and the Doctor actually took her forward to show her that unless they did something, yes it would end. So pressure on the gamer!
um, your all forgetting something when you say how can london be in ruins and stuff, what about the planets in the sky, and destroying big ben? doctor who’s so amazing, it can get away with stuff like that
I’m open minded and am willing to go with whatever happens in the games. David Fox, you might be right, I had to research to freshen my memory since I thought I remembered that Skaro was gone and the research may be faulty.
I didn’t mean to start an arguement about it, was just a question, I am looking forward to these games as much as everyone else.
