Final BARB ratings for The Beast Below

BARB have today released the finalized ratings for The Beast Below, revealing that Series 5’s second episode was watched by an official audience of 8.42million.

As you can see, there’s another significant increase compared to the original overnights for the story (6.7m), and the final figure is made up of 7.93million who watched on BBC One, and an additional 494,000 who were watching on BBC HD channel. It makes Doctor Who the tenth most watched programme of the week.

Meanwhile, the BBC3 repeat of the episode was watched by 0.82 million.

    Great stuff!

    I knew people were worrying for nothing, they seemed to have forgotton the big jump between overnight and official audience for Ep 1! This is a very healthy number indeed, and hopefully shows that Saturday’s episode will see a similar little jump from the overnights.

    Maybe, considering how much they change, it might be better for places not to bother even reporting on the overnights?
