It has been revealed that David Tennant will be appearing in a new romantic comedy called Decoy Bride.

The former Tenth Doctor actor will be playing a character called James in the film, which is written by Sally Phillips, behind Channel 4’s hit series Smack the Pony, and Neil Jaworski. Alice Eve will portray Lara, an acclaimed actress who wants nothing more than to marry her cute British boyfriend James. They retreat to the remote Scottish island of Hegg, where they’re sure the press won’t find them.

But when they do, Lara is forced to find a decoy bride, local girl Katie, played by Kelly MacDonald, however it isn’t long until sparks begin to fly when she meets James.

David will be shooting the film from next month, with production based in the Isle of Man and Scotland. The project was announced earlier today at the Cannes Film Festival.
