ReelScotland have spoken to Neve McIntosh ahead of her appearance in the Silurians two-parter, which kicks off tomorrow with The Hungry Earth.

The actress plays not one but two of the reptile-like creatures, and told the website what it was like being covered in the prosthetics, explaining: “It’s a bit odd at the start, but you’ve got enough time in the chair getting made-up to start getting really used to yourself and seeing what bits of your face still work.”

She added: “The weirdest thing is not hearing your voice the same way because your ears are covered over and your lips are a bit slower because they’ve got a bit more weight on them, if that makes sense? It’s slightly strange moving your mouth.”
