The BBC Press Office has today released the plot details for Episode 8, The Hungry Earth, part one of Series 5’s second two-part adventure!

It’s 2015 and the most ambitious drilling project in history has reached deeper beneath the Earth’s crust than man has ever gone before – but now the ground itself is fighting back.

In the latest episode of the time-travelling drama, written by Chris Chibnall, the Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive in a tiny mining village and find themselves plunged into a battle against a deadly danger from a bygone age.

The episode, written by Chris Chibnall, will air on BBC1 and on the HD channel on Saturday 22nd May, at the TBC time of 18.15. We’ll keep you updated!

But… is it? Presumably Series Six takes place in 2011, so five years after for Amy (the year Amy’s Choice is set in) would be 2016, unless Karen also stays on for Series Seven.

But the wedding date/base code of the universe was given as 26th June 2010. So I was going under the assumption that s6 was 2010-based… though of course most of ep1 was 14/2 years before that…

You’re assuming the child is real. From what i’ve read about the pregnant episode, all may not be as it seems. Of course I don’t know any more than anyone else, but I wouldn’t take anything for granted at this point.
