Warning! This article and its comments may contain spoilers...

There’s no way back, no way up and no way out. Trapped among an army of Weeping Angels, the Doctor and his friends must try to escape through the wreckage of a crashed space liner. Meanwhile, in the forest vault, the Doctor’s companion, Amy, finds herself facing an even more deadly attack.

Our first two-parter of the year concluded tonight as the Weeping Angels set their plans in stone. Continuing from last week’s cliffhanger, the latest episode got off to a flying start, with the Doctor & Co moving onward with determination through the shattered remains of the Byzantium. But there they found themselves in even deeper trouble.

With the Weeping Angels playing peek-a-boo behind the trees in the oxygen factory, Amy’s bravery was put to the ultimate test as she looked into the eyes of her most challenging dilemma yet. But there was more than just the statues to deal with, as that mysterious crack we’ve been encountering since the beginning of the series returned to remind us of the dark and difficult times that undoubtedly lie ahead for our heroes. Not only that, but more strands were added to the River Song mystery, with plenty of twists and turns to dissect – but are we any closer to finding out who she really is..?

It’s over to you! Here’s where you can discuss everything and anything to do with tonight’s adventure. Was it a worthy conclusion? Let us know by sharing your thoughts below, and don’t forget to give the episode a star rating out of 5 and drop by at our latest poll on the homepage! When you’re done here, you can also piece together the latest crack developments in its ongoing discussion! Can you crack it? Happy discussing!

    You could say it was random, or Amy trying to prove a point to the Doctor regarding time being re-written (the completely random idea in this episode! Why would the Cybermen want to do that?) and how she is the most vital point in either reversing all of the moments that have been re-written, or closing the cracks and saving time from being destroyed further.

    For now… Providing Cold Blood is broadcast at 6pm on the 29th, then the finale will be broadcast on 26th June. However, Eurovision may mess everything up again, hence the “(TBC)” next to the “29th May 2010″ in this month’s DWM, in The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood episode preview.

    Although, hopefully Eurovision doesn’t mess things up otherwise a really good idea will have gone to waste which will be a shame. Let’s face it: only Steven would have gone with such a mad idea as making the series real time when it comes to the present day (despite The Eleventh Hour being set mainly in 2008).

    An excellent episode. Did anyone else notice that when the Doctor leaves Amy alone with the cleric soldiers, he comes back to sooth her fears – and is a bit different. Very interesting, that! Also interesting, the inclusion of the reference to the Cyber King in “The Next Doctor”. However, I hope this isn’t all leading to another “Reset Button” episode along the same lines as “Last of the Time Lords”. (“Time Can be rewritten.” I hope this applies to the Dandy Daleks of “Victory”!) Many great moments: The Angel in Amy’s eye. Amy’s countdown. The look on River’s face when the lead cleric begins to tell the Doctor the truth about River. Did River kill the Doctor in her past/his future? Angels everywhere. Everyone hanging around upside down. The appearance of the Crack. Amy pouncing on the Doctor! So many others. Matt Smith is terrific as the Doctor and has certainly brought his own ideas to the character. Things are going to get really good in the weeks to come, I’m certain.

    @pirko Another amazing comment!!
    I bet if it was David Tennant you would be praising it as the one of best episodes ever!
    Who can you say “the bit with amy and the doctor kissing at the end just seemed so random and not needed” when all David Tennant did was kiss EVERY companion he had and even some he did not! This season, even with it’s low point in Victory has been so much better than most of DT’s stories, especially the dire so called “specials”.
    This story was a classic episode, perhaps one of the greatest episodes of Doctor Who there has ever been since it’s return, a perfect balance of excitement, triumph, fear and sadness. The Angels were more sinister than ever and watching them move was hairs on the back of your neck stuff. The whole Amy jumping the Doctor thing was a little loose, although I get the idea behind it. Luckily, the Doctor showed more restraint and composure than the last Doctor, who would have had her knickers off in a second!

    I can understand why some people dont get certain points of the episode, at the end of the day some people will get it, some people wont, Some people will enjoy episodes and some people wont. No series can be a perfect series.
    I personally really enjoyed the 2 parter, lik i got why amy did it.
    So lets not poke holes in each other, We are all Whovians at the end of the day. :) :) :)

    I agree. That was the only part of the episode I wasn’t sure about. It just came out of nowhere!

    I think Flesh and Stone was a marvelous episode. The pace never dipped, the acting was terrific, and it was utterly terrifying.

    One point I must make though, is about the ending. I think it is exremely unfortunate that people are going on about this. I have always found the demand for no attraction between the companion and a young Doctor to be utterly ridiculous. He is saving the either the Earth, another planet, or the unverse everyday. I mean that is fairly Alpha male. Plus, Amy has seemed, to many of us, as being rather – errr…confident.

    As I read somewhere on a message board: “This is the best way to deal with the sexual tension rather than not mentioning it. After her ordeal it’s unsurprising that Amy is looking to get laid with the nearest thing available. She tries it on, he rebuffs, so no more mooching a la Martha, or the Doctor falling in love ( a la Rose). She will still be the companion as she is integral to the story arc.”

    This pretty much sums up my exact viewpoint. I don’t get the problem. Maybe some viewer’s viewpoints are getting a little clouded by jealousy of either character?

    I noticed that, yeah. And I’m pretty sure, when he comes back to say ‘Remember what I told you when you were seven’, he was wearing his jacket. Only the Doctor wasn’t wearing his jacket at that point. So, continuity error, or something else?? I suppose we’ll find out.

    I personally have no problen with romance or allusions to sex cropping up in Who; it has done since the show returned. The show has developed and adapted, so if you don’t like it, well, tough. My only slight problem with the last scene in this episode, is that, on first watch, it did feel like it was too sudden a change in tone; in the same way that when Tate first appeared in her wedding dress in the Tardis it fealt weird, because of the very sudden gear change.

    Overall, this two parter was right up there with the very best episodes of the last five years; it’s right up there with stories like Dalek, Human Nature and The Girl In The Fireplace. Cracking.

    Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.
    The angels weren’t as scary as i remember from last time.
    I also felt seeing the angels move lessened the effect; before we didn’t know how they moved, it was unknown so what the doctor was up against wasn’t entirely known either.

    Thinking maybe River Song kills the Doctor, she ssys she killed ‘a very good man. thebest i’ve known’ how can that not be the doctor?! who could she know that’s better than him? Intrigued to know how this story will carry on, and how they will show it (as obviously the actors will age etc.)

    Thought Matt was really good in the scene with the father octavian where he’s about to die, the emotion and the fact he knows he can do nothing to save him, really sad.

    @TWWL
    I didn’t really have a problem with Lady Cassandra as Rose kissing the Doctor, I didn’t mind the Doctor “kissing” Martha for the Judoon to find the imprint, and I didn’t even mind Madame de Pompadour kissing the Doctor and I think even Amy’s rather sudden……..attack would have been passable if it hadn’t have been for that one line about sorting her out. For me personally, I think that was too far.

    I think it all depends on how sensitive or not you are towards the subject when it comes to Doctor Who. I don’t think people like me that didn’t like it are wrong or “should stop watching the program if they can’t take it”……..it’s a very valid opinion as much as those who didn’t think anything of it.

    Not that you said that TWWL, don’t get me wrong, I just wanted to add to what you said. I’d personally have preferred if the comment about sorting her out had not been there.

    That aside, I agree with you, the two-parter itself really wasn’t bad. Not sure if it was the best Doctor Who episode I’ve ever seen, but I want to watch it again on Iplayer at some point.

    I also agree with Sophie, the scene with Father Octavian only a blink away from death was very good in how it was written and performed.

    Did the last scene remind anyone of Doomsday, with the Angels falling into a white abyss and the Doctor/companion ending up on a beach? :P

    I thought it was a brilliant episode though, and I can’t wait to see how River fits into all this!

    Hey, I agree, I don’t think anyone who doesn’t like it is wrong, it’s just unfortunate, as it seems it just comes part and parcel of modern Who.

    If the Doctor has been operating the Tardis with the brakes on;does this mean that everyone else has during the last forty seven years?,in their own versions of the ship too!.
    Hints have it,and not rumour,that River could possibly return for the finale,if you listen to the way interviews are worded over the weekend.
    Excellent episode and very comfortably Dr Who of old for the modern world.Amy seems to be put in the kind of danger Sarah Jane did and her survival really is touch and go,despite we knowing she lives to tell another day.Brilliant scenes that will be remembered for years to come,such as being grabbed round the neck by an angel and the statues becoming more animated.

    All I said was I didnt enjoy it as much as other people. if DT had been in that type of episode last night I would have still hated it. I just didnt enjoy it, full stop! I know when i dont enjoy an episode but I should be allowed to voice that opinion. I’ve actually been quite kind to the new series so far (especially episode 2).

    Oh and as for the kissing, there was always reasons WHY DT had to kiss companions whilst amy just wants some sexual fun with him…which is a great example for kids by the way (?!)

    seriously u need to let go of your DT bitterness and accept that other people CAN have other opinions. If I’m not allowed to say I enjoyed something than maybe this isnt the site for me. With that said i would like to ask..

    @admin

    Is the discuss section just for positive reviews of episodes and nothing bad can be said? Or are people allowed to have different views?
