Karen and Piers reveal cryptic finale teases
Karen Gillan and Piers Wenger have revealed two cryptic clues to help prepare us for what they promise will be a heartbreaking series finale.
Speaking to This Is London at the preview screening of Vincent and the Doctor yesterday, the actress teased: “I’m going to say the word ‘horses’ and that’s it”, before the executive producer added: “I’m going to say the word ‘helmets’.” According to them, it’d be wise to have a box of tissues on hand while watching the last two episodes!
Gillan explained: “The second part of the finale was the most difficult because it’s a big climax for Amy and her story that’s been building throughout the series. And it just required a lot of kind of concentration and emotion.”
Regarding this week’s episode, which is written by Richard Curtis, Wenger said: “I would just like to pay a personal tribute to Richard because I think it is one of the most astonishing episodes of Doctor Who certainly that I’ve been involved in – probably one of the most important episodes ever made.”
Series 5 of Doctor Who continues this Saturday at 18:40 on BBC1/HD.
Horses and helmets – the Romans?
at first i thought the ‘love story that will last a millennia’ is about amy and rory (since apparently he does ’survive). but now, i have this mad thought that it might be between the doctor and the tardis. maybe the tardis sacrifices herself for the doctor. the doctor is after all 900+ years old, close to a millennia. and if it’s a sad story that requires tissue, the ‘relationship’ between the doctor and the tardis would be epic, perhaps even more than the doctor and rose in doomsday.
