Let us know what you thought of Doctor Who Live!
Doctor Who Live has now begun its monster tour of the UK, which means over the next few weeks, intergalactic showman Vorgenson will be taking to the stage in 9 different cities to front the show to end all shows! And it’s about time too!
There’ll be monsters, there’ll be music and there’ll be lots and lots of mayhem, and more enemies than you can shake a stick at – it wouldn’t be Doctor Who without them!
It all comes together to make a show-stopping extravaganza for Doctor Who fans both young and old, and, of course, if you’ve been lucky enough to watch one of the peformances, we want to know what you thought of it!
Post your concert reviews below! Where did you see it? Was the atmosphere electric? What parts did you love? What parts did you hate? Would you sit through it all again?

went to see doctor who live last night it was amazing well worth the money i liked the weeping angels, the cybermen and the daleks
Went to the Monday show in Birmingham. Was on the front row and it was amazing it really was a super night and I came home smiling. Nigel was Amazing he really held the show very well I like how he wad really nice and fun at the start warming to the audience and use to him. Then the moment he captuered the Doctor we were boing him like mad. The scenes the Matt S did were great to. I loved the montage of Doctors David of course got a massive cheer when his Doctor was shown. A great story match with great actors and of course Murrays great music. A super night if you haven’t been you should defiantly go
@Dan
Lucky you for going on the 8th. I went the 9th and I don’t think it was amazing. It was FANTASTIC! Even with no doctor on stage, the show acted out like two episodes of Dr. Who. A cliffhanger in the middle and a epic grand finale at the end. I first saw the advent for it when I was in cardiff. I had just returned from the Dr. Who exbit there and saw the poster for it. I then got tickets for me and my dad (who’s seen every epi since it began!!). It was worth the crowded trains, long wait and no doctor. Singing Judoon, down-right terrorifing Weeping Angels and all 5 daleks was just some of the exicentment Dr. Who Live had to offer. And this is for any one how thinks the new daleks aren’t scary. Before the show started my dad said: “I think the cyberman are scarier then the Daleks.” but after a on stage battle and a flying Dalek, he said to me “I’ve changed my mind!” I one of the few people how are sad to see the new mutli-coloured daleks go…
I went last night (My friend got me tickets for my birthday!!) and it was brilliant. The special effects were amazing and we were literally a meter away from the monsters. The bit with the weeping angles and the police men disappearing was very creepy. I thought the way that the conductor had practised Matt’s mannerisms and body language was pretty cool, and it was brilliant when the cybermen out attacking the daleks with there new and improved weapons and the flying dalek! now that was awesome! I don’t think there was a bit about it I didn’t like, apart from at the end when the lights came on and we had to leave.
I went yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic – part tribute to the music of Doctor Who, part tribute to the current version of Who and part fantasy pantomime – this show is great for the young and young at heart.
The new arrangements of Murray Gold’s music led by regular series conductor/arranger Ben Foster adds a new feel to the themes that we have come to know and love over the past five years. (Please BBC – see sense and do a “Doctor Who Live” album alongside the current soundtrack albums). I especially enjoyed the re-interpretation of the music from Victory Of The Daleks which had the hair on the back of my neck standing.
Matt Smith is brilliant, as usual, in his pre-recorded excerpts as the Doctor and the excerpts work brilliantly alongside Nigel Planer’s character of Vorgenson. (If ever a character deserves a shot in the series itself, please hand one to Nigel Planer). But, the real plaudits have to go to the cast of performers who have to quick change into the various monsters and minor roles in the show and Mr Monster Voice himself, Nicholas Briggs, who not only carries out his regular duties as Daleks, Cybermen and Judoon, but also guests on stage as Winston Curchill.
If you still haven’t got a ticket, get one. For over one and a half hours you’ll feel like you’re part of “the trip of a lifetime”.
Saw the matinee at the MEN yesterday. While my 13 year old son and 9 year old daughter loved it (especially the 2nd half), Dad couldn’t help but think that it was an awful lot of money (4 tickets @ £170) to watch Doctor Who the Panto. An opportunity best enjoyed with end of the row seats down in the arena where the monsters walk right by you. I think I’d rather have an Albert Hall Concert than a good ‘ole days style panto but the kids may disagree.
To Nov 63
I see what you mean about it being steep in price but it was an experience that I wouldn’t have given up for anything.
I loved it and if a similar event happened “up North”, I’d happily go again.
i saw it on the 29th it was amazing! cybermen sparking liz 10 shooting, and the weeping angels killing the police men it was a shame that i didnt see any celebrities although murray gold
Saw it last night , absolute 10/10 , the only thing that could of made it better is if Matt and Karen were there themselves , but i still love how they incorporated the whole thing with them The music was first class also, hearing I am the Doctor live on that montage at the beginning of Act 2 blew my mind
My daughter and I went to the Afternoon show today at the Odyssey in Belfast. We both agreed the show was amazing, every aspect worked from Nigel Planer’s showman to the filmed Doctor segements. The finale with the Doctor trapped a la General Zod was cool and the clash between Cybermen and Daleks was brilliant. The orchestra leader channelling Matt’s mannerisms was a nice touch and the sound and spectacle overall were brilliant.
I was sooooo AMAZING. I went with my best friend Dani in manchester on the 22nd october in manchester. Everything about it was AMAZING!!! especially the music, having a live band made the sound fx and iconic music a million times better. Matt’s scenes were amazing. It was as if he was actually there! Hope they do another show like it next year. It was sooo worth the money. I had floor tickets so we were like a metre away from cybermen, clockwrk people, smilers, winders, vampires (fish from space)and judoon. Plus, flying supreme daleks RULE!!!!!!
I saw it at the Liverpool Echo Arena last week, and believe me… it was BRILLIANT, the effects, the show itself, I just wish if they do it next year, I can get a better ticket
