And they’re off! Filming for the fourth series of Torchwood, Miracle Day, officially commenced in Los Angeles today!

According to the spin off’s crew, who have launched an official Twitter feed to keep us up to date with the latest production developments, the first shot for the 10-part series took place at 8:01am this morning. Its creator Russell T Davies and executive producer Julie Gardner were on set to oversee the start of filming, which will continue for the next 7 months in the US and the UK.

Meanwhile, Kai Owen, who will be returning in the series as Gwen’s husband, Rhys, has confirmed on his Twitter that he’s flying out tomorrow ready for his first day on location with Eve Myles on Thursday! We’ll, of course, keep you up to date with the latest news as and when it comes through, and don’t forget you can share your Series 4 theories in our dedicated new discussion. 2011 is when everything changes…

From us, all the best to the cast and crew for filming. We can’t wait to see the end result!
