It has been revealed that James Corden will be reprising his role as Craig Owens in Series 6 of Doctor Who.

Following a string of unofficial reports, the BBC Doctor Who site has announced that the Gavin & Stacey actor, whose character was introduced in The Lodger last year, will be reunited with the Doctor in a forthcoming episode.

According to What’s On TV, he’ll be seen in Episode 12, however this is yet to be confirmed.

    i thought he would be because i think his charactor is more important than it seems. did anyone see the van gough exibition leaflet on his fridge? bit of a coincidence i think that he was there at the same time? also why would there just be a randorm tardis being built above his appartment? i mean surely if it could be made as easy as that then it would be done more often, and why a time machine why not a space ship anyway!? also the doctor said the “tardis” would implode when they went out of the building but instead it like teleported somewhere else!? and the 12th episode means it is the first of the last two parter so will be important won’t it!? hmmm i reckon we should watch out for craig…

    It’s… not ridiculous, which is more than can be said for most rumours. We’ve all – no, someone’s bound to say “speak for yourself”. There’s a lot of us who have been going on about plot holes, OOCness and missed opportunities in The Lodger, so a follow up sounds like a good idea.

    Nevertheless, stories that span series do worry me slightly; it relies on people a) having watched the previous series and b) remembering. The Silence and River Song I’m not concerned about, because they were referenced in lots of different episodes. But if you happened to miss The Lodger, then that’s it. You’re rather ruled out for this potential episode 12.

    Thoughts?

    I always thought there was more to this episode, ” building a tardis ” Omwga perhaps, but what about the freaky portrait in the hallway who’s eyes followed you, and as pointed out with Van Gough on fridge there were lots of little references if you watched carefully or should I say as many times as I have lol, but the freaky portrait really caught my eye

    Given that Episode 12 is supposedly written by Gareth Roberts, I can see why he’d be returning then. But, why not in the first half on Series Six when the faux TARDIS returns?

    When the show came back in 2005 Russell called it Series 1 so that new viewers wouldn’t feel isolated by the show’s mythology. I feel that if it was called series 27 in 2005, I and many others wouldn’t have watched. Why change it now? P.S. just my opinion, I can see why many fans of the classic series call it Series 32, just makes it sound like an aged show.@Benny Garrett

    @Benny Garrett
    Technically it’s SEASON 32 (or Series 2, if you want to follow production numbers, or fnarg+1 if you absolutely want to avoid confusion).

    I usually refer to it as season 32, but I like the idea of having series 6A and 6B (because of the Spring/Autumn split) in addition to the hypothetical (I do believe this idea was first imagined by Paul Cornell) season 6B involving Patrick Troughton’s Doctor and Jamie (Because of multi-doctor episodes)

    Very true @Benny Garrett. Good point.
    I agree with all of these comments Craig coming back will be and could be important and hilarious and he seems very important anyway as stated in the first comment. He could be crucial to he series and I’m exited to find out whether he is or if we are blowing this all out of proportion. However I do believe Craig being important could have a few plot holes and maybe bringing somethig like this could result in something that may partially confuse viewers. However nevertheless I am extremely exited and James Corden is generally amazing :) therefore I am eagerly awaiting his return as Craig and can’t way for more of the doctor and his teams shenanigans :) I am constantly wondering what the silence and the mystery of River could be. But anyways let’s just enjoy the wait.. One thing I do know.. It’s all worthwhile.

    Glad to see Corden is returning for Series 32! Yes, lots of interesting things going on in “The Lodger”. Can’t wait for it to be revealed that the War Chief (from the Troughton story, “The War Games”) has returned to wreak vengeance on his nemesis. (That was OBVIOUSLY a SIDRAT being built atop Corden’s character’s one-story house. OK, so maybe it was THAT obvious.)
