The Doctor and Amy set to face “cataclysmic choices”
Matt Smith has promised that the Doctor and Amy will have to face some “cataclysmic choices” in the new series.
Speaking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 1 at the launch of the Doctor Who Experience earlier today, the actor revealed: “Without wishing to give too much away, the Doctor and Amy are really faced with some cataclysmic choices, particularly at the end of the cliffhanger for Episode 7.” He also echoed his previous comments about Series 6 introducing the scariest monster yet…
“The Silence is going to be the scariest Doctor Who monster in a long time,” he teased.
Of River Song, Matt finished: ”Steven’s been planning this since the very first episode, and even everything with Silence in the Library, it’s all connected. So he’s had this three-year plan. And it’s all unfolding…”
Break your silence in our ongoing Series 6 discussion, Silences, Rivers and Songs!
First thought: but not Rory?
Second thought: with every plot development we see, I gain more and more respect for Steven Moffat. His planning alone is awe-inspiring.
SILENCE in the Library.
Repeating from something I read before, this absolutely screams “River = The Silence”
I’m thinking this is another messed up Moffat idea.
I really pray this is not one big anti climax. I sadly felt like this at the end of series with the big bang.
On one hand I can’t wait to hear what River Song’s connection to the DW story is but at the same time I don’t because the intrigue is fascinating enough
Cataclysmic choices? Sounds depressing. Although, I cant wait to discover who River really is!
AH I’m so glad it’s all connected in the end! I mean we all thought it would be but with the number of DW writers who change story lines from one season to the next I was slightly worried.
Also @TimeyWimey you can call me dumb but I never made the connection there. OMG. Moffat’s a genius. I. Can’t. Wait.
Right, fangirl moment over I will go on suffering in silence (heheh) until April.
@e.p
*Season= series. Sorry, my American came out in the excitement
@TimeyWimey
Not really, seeing as either the Twelfth or Thirteenth Doctor will pick up River as a companion. The Doctor wouldn’t have her as a companion if she was the pit of all evil. Also, seeing as the Silence might very well have something to do with the Silents…
The silence of SinL being THE Silence would be fascinating.
On a related but not that related note: was anyone else annoyed when, at the end of VoV, the Doctor pointed out the Silence but didn’t even step back outside the TARDIS?
