Timey-Wimey Tuesday: Just what’s in that box?

This week’s hot topic is the mysterious box that the Doctor picks up in the trailer. Doctor Who fans are renowned for analysing things down to minute detail, but we get the impression that there’s definitely something out of the ordinary about this particular box. Perhaps it’s the Doctor’s expression, or maybe the fact it’s glowing is a big clue..?
What do you think the box means? Why’s it in the TARDIS? Is it a sign of a things to come? A gift from the gods? Whatever it is, the Doctor certainly looks shocked to see it!

Maybe…It’s the key too finding out exactley who/what River Song is. The shocked expression on his face could be because he’s just found out who she is..??

It’s the communication device the Second Doctor used in The War Games… it is being used here by Idris to send an SOS to the Doctor to rescue her…

Isn’t he standing just inside the door, it might have flown in through the door or something. You can’t see Amy’s and Rory’s facial expressions though, that would have helped.
It looks more to me like the Key To Time, which was last seen in one of the 4th doctors episode
