Doctor Who ‘Script to Screen’ competition opens!
Last month the BBC announced the once in a lifetime ‘Script to Screen’ Doctor Who competition, and now it has been officially opened!
The contest gives fans aged 9-11 the chance to write their very own mini-adventure for the Doctor, and the winning entry will be filmed and televised on a future episode of Doctor Who Confidential. The full terms and conditions, as well as learning resources, can be found on the BBC Learning website. The closing date is 13th June 2011.
“I’m delighted to support Script to Screen because I’m passionate about creative writing and believe it’s a skill to nurture,” Matt Smith commented. “It will be interesting to see what ideas the children come up with. I could finally be defeated by a new enemy, or be exiled to a distant galaxy. Who knows? And that’s the beauty of a child’s imagination!”
The winning script will be chosen by Steven Moffat (series showrunner) with Saul Nassé (Controller of BBC Learning), Piers Wenger and Beth Willis (series executive producers).

Too true…
I hope the 9-11 year-olds out there are as out-of-their-mind excited by this contest as I know I would have been when I was 9-11 years old. Wish I could fake an entry. Well, my wife says I still sometimes act like a child…
