Prince William and Kate Middleton will be getting married tomorrow, and to celebrate the historic day, we want to know what you think has been the most memorable Doctor Who wedding of recent years!

The Doctor has been to many weddings over the course of his travels (and, for all we know, several of his own…), but unfortunately not all of them have been ones to remember. The first wedding we saw in the revived series was Pete and Jackie’s in Series 1’s Father’s Day.

Their already rocky relationship was made all the more so when Pete made the ill-timed mistake of getting his fiancée’s name wrong at the alter (oops!), and there was yet more chaos in the church in the same episode when a wound in time unleashed the deadly Reapers unto the world on the day of Stuart Hoskins and Sarah Clarke’s wedding.

Meanwhile, the Doctor’s former companion, Donna, has had not one but two wedding days, the first of which took place in The Runaway Bride. As she prepared to tie the knot in a glittering ceremony on Christmas Eve, she was blissfully unaware that she was already tied up in a sinister plan to take over the world. Her fiancé, Lance, was working alongside the Empress of the Racnoss, and Donna subsequently vanished as she made her way down the aisle. Now that’s one way to make an exit! She finally got her happily ever after, however, when she married Shaun Temple in The End of Time, Part Two.

The most recent wedding was Amy and Rory’s, who tied the knot (eventually!) in The Big Bang. It was a day of joy and salvation as the Doctor made a triumphant return, and just in time to show off his groovy dance moves! It’s a good thing it all went well, as Rory had waited nearly 2,000 years to get Amy down the aisle. Good on you, mate!

Weddings have also been the settings of two spin off adventures. In The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, Sarah Jane was ready to make Peter Dalton a part of her life, but it was later revealed that it was all part of a plan put in place by the Trickster. Rhys and Gwen’s wedding in Something Borrowed, meanwhile, was made all the more stressful when the blushing bride was impregnated with an alien baby… Only in Torchwood, eh?

Of course, there have been other Doctor Who weddings, and there will no doubt be more of them to come in the future, but for now you are cordially invited to vote for your most memorable one from the selection below. Do you prefer it when things go to plan? Doctor Who and marriage don’t always go together like a horse and carriage…

This poll is now closed. Thanks for voting!
