Julie Gardner reassures long-term Torchwood fans
Julie Gardner has reassured Torchwood’s long-term fans that the new series will still be the show we know and love.
Speaking to World Screen about the benefits of its new co-production partnership with Starz, the exec producer revealed: “It helps us reach some scale, as we’ve had the opportunity to film in the UK and America. We’ve also got bigger stunts, more action, more background artists, so there is an on-screen value. The single most important thing to say is that, at heart, the show remains the same.”
She continued: “We haven’t been asked to change it, or to be American – whatever that means. BBC One have asked us to make the best quality, most bold offering we could.”
You can watch the full interview – which also includes words from Miracle Day’s stars John Barrowman (Captain Jack) and Bill Pullman (Oswald Danes) – in the player below.
We were recently treated to our first glimpse of the new series in a BBC One trailer.
