Warning! This article and its comments may contain spoilers...

The Doctor receives a distress signal from an old friend. Could there really be another living Time Lord out there? Hopes raised, he follows the signal to a junkyard planet sitting  a mysterious asteroid in a Bubble universe, populated by a very strange family. As the Doctor investigates, he puts his friends in the gravest danger.

In one of the most anticipated episodes of the new series so far, the Doctor, Amy and Rory faced shocks, scares and Ood – and we were with them for every step of the way!

As the first Doctor Who episode to be penned by acclaimed fantasy and sci-fi writer Neil Gaiman, it was always going to be one to go down in history. Of course, the fact that it’s called ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ adds to the overall intrigue factor, and ever since the title was revealed back in March, our brains have been racing with all kinds of outlandish theories and questions. The answers were finally revealed tonight, along with some surprises…

As well as the mysteries surrounding the beautiful and insane Idris, we were also given an all access pass to the TARDIS, which came hand in hand with its very own array of secrets. Along the way, there were blasts from the past and insights into the future, but was the episode worth all the hype that preceded it? Did it exceed your expectations?

The Doctor’s Wife has been described as “a real love letter” to the fans, but was it a love letter worth reading? Were you left delighted or disappointed? You can let us know what you thought about tonight’s epic adventure in the comments section. Happy discussing!

Mike, I was hoping to see more TARDIS rooms. At least the boot cupboard again. Haven’t seen that in, oh… about 35 years or so.

Yeah, the Last Great Time War was fought by the 8th Doctor and only spoken about in the Revived Series, so it was the creation of RTD.

For me and a couple of friends, we thought it was a shame that the 9th/10th Doctor’s console room was destroyed, meaning it probably won’t be seen again.

Why would they need to show the old console room again beyond this story? We have a console room.

We were supposed to see more rooms; lack of cash meant Gaiman had to cut and keep to the basic corridors we saw.

ema, shawn is correct that the Time War is not in the Classic series — it happened sometime between the 1996 Fox/Universal/BBC coproduction starring Paul McGann and the 2005 revival. In fact, it’s widely suspected (though never said on the series yet) that the Time War was what did the Eighth Doctor in.

I think the more that Russell T Davies was going to do with the Time War was what we saw in David Tennant’s swansong, where we got to actually see Gallifrey again and it actually wasn’t a good thing.

It’s not that it’s needed, it’s that it’s significant. That console room is “my Doctor”’s Tardis console room, in the episode the Tardis said it had archived it, which was good but then they convieniently get rid of it permanently. As a 10th Doctor fan, speaking personally, that was a little insulting, but it’s done now and isn’t worth arguing about.

I can always rely on TWWL to pick me up on my comments, lol…….Still, it was the view of me and a few of my friends that they shouldn’t have deleted the late 8(possibly)/9/10 console room, but they did and that’s that.

You should feel lucky you seen it again at all, considering everyone thought it was destroyed to begin with.

    @Glenn
Exactly, they brought it back and destroyed it yet again.

But look, it isn’t important, it’s just what we thought

I honestly dont think they would show anything about the time war, although fair enough The End Of Time went and showed a tiny snippet… but to actually tell the WHOLE story would take away alot of mystery, bit like the elephant in the room, no one wants to say anything… sort of haha

Details of a photographic still from a future episode (I realise was not deliberate. but some people are pretty careful to avoid such images and whoviannet usually puts them behind links, with spoiler warnings).

I too was glad to see the old console again. I wish there were some really old consoles. (I guess newbies- sorry to offend anyone- wouldn’t recognize them).
