New BBC Miracle Day trail, launch date statement
While some of the world has already enjoyed the premiere of Miracle Day (if you have, let us know what you thought of it in our discussion!), for the UK there’s still a few days to go until Jack and Gwen officially return.
To help pass the rest of the time, the BBC has released a new trailer for the first episode, The New World, which airs on Thursday on BBC One. Watch the trail here or below. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the new and exclusive Miracle Day content on the Red Button from tomorrow!
3 brand new radioplays – The Lost Files – will also be airing on BBC Radio 4 this week.
Meanwhile, the BBC recently issued an official statement in regards to the complaints recieved about the UK’s later Series 4 premiere date (14th July). Were you angered?
We are pleased to announce that Torchwood will return to BBC One at 21.00 on Thursday 14 July.
Starz in the US have the contractual right to the World Premiere, that relates to the deal that was done and ultimately this has created better value for licence fee payers.
Contractually, the broadcasters in other territories can transmit from the next day onwards but being as close to the transmission in the US is not the only factor in the scheduling decision. We have identified what we think is the best slot for BBC One viewers and have also ensured that it’s within a week of transmission in the US.
Unravel the latest Series 4 developments in our ongoing and dedicated discussion…

Liking the trailer. Less keen on the announcement. If the BBC knew all along that Torchwood would air on Starz earlier than on the BBC, why did we get all that PR telling us that it would transmit on the same day on both? I’m not too bothered about getting it after the USA, I’m just annoyed that we’ve essentially been lied to.
