The Doctor, Amy, Rory and River in new promo!

The Doctor, Amy, Rory and River are featured in this brilliant new Series 6: Part 2 promo image released to accompany the new series trailer!
In the picture, our heroes are surrounded by the Silence and the mysterious astronaut, both of which will play big parts in the new adventures. The image has been released by BBC America, who will be airing the 6-part series in the US from Saturday 27th August. While unconfirmed, it is expected to begin in the UK on the same day.

What a don the Doctor looks!! He’s becoming more of a style icon every day. Can’t wait!!!
I love the promo image. Epic in scale, but full of little details such as what is the structure at the base of the pyramid. And as for the pyramid itself; why is it shooting out bolts of Silence-like lightning? River’s look is interesting and follows on nicely from A Good Man… while the Doctor’s new coat is reminiscent of the Fourth Doctor’s while the rest of the ensemble is Troughtonesque. With the news that Amy will be back in the series after this one, I hope Rory is too, although I have a feeling he may very well be the “good man” whom River kills. We’ll see…
AWESOME! Cybermen/Egypt story for definite! Angels in the God Complex! What the hell all that stuff in TIA and DOTM was about! Did I see River with a Kovarian eye patch in the trailer?

I do agree with other people on other fan sites
that matt’s coat does have a feel of the Tenth, fourth, sixth, fith and even third doctors about it
yes it looks slightly army/ captain jack
but I love it
like men doctors the clothes are changinh
I feel that his coat has a look of the fourth doctor
with the colour of the third and the buttons of Captain jack Hrkness
I Do wish though that it was a tweed coat as it would be fitting his character.
it was a shame that before he left the nith doctor could have worn a leather coat.

In the new trailer, when River reveals her eye-patch, there is a sarcophagus in the background, thus the link with the pyramid on the photo. Now how does all this feature in the big season plot ?

I saw the picture wrong the first time I looked at it, and now I can’t get this out of my mind: Amy’s left leg looks like it’s the Doctor’s right leg. I know, it’s just me. I wish I could see it correctly. This is maddening. (But what a sexy leg!)
Anywho… So, is Sutekh the Destroyer still ticked off with the Doctor after all these years? Then too, the robot Amy is battling as well as that “white space” area she’s in, remind me of the White Robots and White Space of the Troughton story, “The Mind Robber”. Perhaps a replacement Master Storyteller is the big bad guy?
Can’t wait to see it all unfold on screen!
I like the 10th Doctor/Jack Harkness feel to the new coat, it’s a subtle tribute to the past whilst also having its own character and style that will be attributed to the 11th Doctor.
