Chris Albrecht has discussed the longevity of Torchwood, predicting that it will be “a while” yet before Captain Jack makes a return to our screens.

The CEO of Starz told Multichannel News that the future of the series depends on the availability of its creator. The Starz network formed a co-partnership deal with BBC Worldwide to produce last year’s series of the Doctor Who spin off. He said: “Obviously, we’re in touch with the BBC all the time, but Russell T Davies is so busy.”

Despite this, he revealed that Starz producers “stand by ready for any news”, however he also admitted: “I think it’ll be a while before Russell does come back to Torchwood.”

Eve Myles has said she would like to star in a movie to “draw a line under” the series.
