The universe had been restored, Amy and Rory finally made it down the isle, and everything was back to normal.

The date was 26th June 2010 and after a rollercoaster ride of an adventure, we had safely made it to the epic finale of Matt Smith’s first series. And he was nowhere to be seen! It didn’t take Amy long to realise that there was a certain Time Lord shaped hole missing from the proceedings and as she wished him back into existence, he returned to give her the greatest wedding present of them all.

And as our countdown of the #TopTenOfEleven continues, it is this triumphant comeback that has finished in ninth place. The iconic moment proved once and for all that even the end of the universe couldn’t wipe out our beloved hero, but perhaps more importantly, it introduced his epic ‘giraffe dance’ unto the world. Because he only came for the dancing!
