UK ratings for Mummy on the Orient Express

Over 5 million people hopped aboard the Orient Express for last night’s high octane Doctor Who escapade.

According to the overnight ratings, an audience of 5.08 million tuned in for Mummy on the Orient Express on BBC One. The adventure, written by Jamie Mathieson, was the eighth episode of Peter Capaldi’s debut series as the Twelfth Doctor. It saw passengers of the iconic train being stalked by a deadly creature.

Doctor Who was the third most watched programme of the day with a 22.1% share of the total television audience. Once again it was beaten by Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor which brought in 8.65 million and 7.55 million viewers to their respective channels. Final ratings will be released in 7 days time.
