Early 13th Doctor favourite emerges
Peter Capaldi hasn’t even announced his departure yet but already a (very) early favourite has emerged to take on the role of the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who.
Tom Weston-Jones, who is currently appearing in the BBC’s Dickensian drama, is the first actor to have his name put forward as the incumbent Time Lord’s replacement, who will reportedly take over the TARDIS alongside incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall for Series 11 in 2018. Persistent reports suggest that Series 10, to air next spring after this year’s Christmas Special, will be Peter’s last.
This is all mere speculation at the moment, of course, but what do you think of Tom as the first frontrunner? Are there any other actors or actresses you’d like to see take on the role?
If and when Capaldi’s regeneration ends, Tom Weston-Jones would be perfect as the 13th Doctor. He is a wonderful actor, especially fond of his character Detective Kevin Corcoran from BBC America’s series “Copper”!
Oh god please no.
Especially since he looks like something that burst out of David Cameron’s stomach or eggsack or however those things reproduce.
I’m not interested in speculation about the 13th Doctor at this point. I’m still processing the news we’ll have next to no Doctor Who this year. After Series 8, I think Capaldi needs a great series in 2017 to give his Doctor a decent legacy before he goes.
