11 years since ‘Rose’
Today – 26th March – is an important day in the Whovian calendar because it marks the anniversary of the show’s comeback back in 2005.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over a decade since Chris Eccleston first burst on to the airwaves as the Ninth Doctor, but time really does fly when you’re having fun because, as of today, it’s officially been 11 whole years since the premiere of his debut adventure, Rose. The episode also introduced Billie Piper as his companion to form one of the most beloved on screen partnerships in TV history. Now, run for your life!
4015 days later, the world’s longest running sci-fi franchise is still as strong as ever. With filming on its tenth revived series due to start in May, let us take this moment to reflect on how it all began (well, in the 21st century, at least…) as we go back to the start (again, not the real start!) to remember how an ordinary teenage girl’s life was changed forever.
