The Daily Star have claimed that Joanna Page will be appearing as a “major character” in a future Doctor Who story.

Although the tabloid doesn’t establish whether the actress, best known for her role as Stacey in the hit BBC comedy, Gavin & Stacey, will be seen in Series 5 or as part of Series 6, she will reportedly be portraying “a long-lost relative of the Doctor” in two episodes, with BBC bosses keen to ultimately sign her as a recurring character.

A ’source’ told the newspaper: “Joanna could be massive for the show. She’s been offered two episodes and if that goes well the sky’s the limit.”

They added: “Obviously we would love her to have a long-term future in Doctor Who.”

I finally got around to reading this. Obviously it’s nonsense, but I remember hearing people wondering if the “long lost relative” referenced in the article might be Susan. Actually, if you look at the photo, she might have made a good Jenny.
