Giant Dalek stands in as Guy on York Maze bonfire
A giant 4 metre tall Dalek will be the centre of the festivities at York Maze’s Bonfire Night celebrations on 5th November!
The specially commissioned replica will be set on fire during the bonfire and fireworks display, which will be accompanied by a playlist of hit music from Doctor Who.
“York is the home of Guy Fawkes but we don’t like to burn old residents here,” said the maze owner, Tom Pearcy, “so we have created a Guy in the form of a different foe.”
He added: “We thought it would be fitting to end the 50th anniversary year by giving the Dalek a roasting on top of our huge bonfire. It will be quite a spectacle when it goes off.”
