Jenna Coleman has revealed that filming Matt Smith’s final Doctor Who scene was a “really traumatic” experience for everyone involved.

The actor will bow out of the series as the Eleventh Doctor in next month’s Christmas Special meaning Clara will have to get to grips with a brand new Time Lord. “Peter Capaldi has definitely arrived,” the actress revealed during a recent interview on Daybreak. “He appears in Matt’s costume and the scene just carries on. It’s kind of brutal in that sense.”

She recently teased that the festive episode serves as the “perfect” ending to his era.

Jenna will return to our screens as Clara Oswald in The Day of the Doctor on Saturday.
