Doctor Who has broken another Guiness World Record for bringing together the largest gathering of people dressed as the show’s characters.

The record-breaking event took place earlier this week at La Mole Comic-Con Internaciona in Mexico, where the Twelfth Doctor himself Peter Capaldi was on hand to witness the auspicious accomplishment. A grand total of 492 Doctor Who fans were in attendance, all dressed to impress as their favourite heroes, villains and variations thereupon from over 50 years of time and space.

“This afternoon, the World Cosplay record was both set and smashed,” Peter said. “It is no surprise to me that it was by the Latin American fans, who are renowned for their passion.”

Back in 2013, the series entered history books for becoming the largest ever simulcast of a TV drama for the global broadcast of The Day of the Doctor in over 94 countries.
