Joanna Page has responded to the claims that she has signed up to appear as a “major character” in a forthcoming Doctor Who story.

The interesting speculation surfaced online through The Daily Star earlier this week, however, according to The Press Association, the Gavin & Stacey actress has since revealed that there is no truth in the rumours. She said: “It’s not true. A friend was telling me about that. I was like ‘I wish it was true’.”

She added: “I think I’ve got to be the only Welsh actress who has never been in Doctor Who so if someone would like me to be in Doctor Who I’d love to have a part.”
