Matt’s back in Cardiff for Sarah Jane filming
Matt Smith has returned to Cardiff to shoot his guest scenes for the new series of The Sarah Jane Adventures!
Thanks to the beady eyes of avid fans, we know that he’s already been filming his appearance for the past week or so, however we were given solid confirmation earlier this afternoon, when journalist Benjamin Cook tweeted: “On the set of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Matt Smith is here. So is Lis Sladen. So is Katy Manning. And cool stuff. It is good. That is all.”
The two-part story, which is written by former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, will transmit on CBBC later this year as part of the spin off’s fourth series. Sarah Jane will meet the Doctor’s new incarnation for the first time, and our Time Lord will also be reunited with his former companion, Jo Grant, who first appeared in 1971.
When production has wrapped, it’s thought that Smith will be filming his role as Christopher Isherwood in the new BBC2 drama, Christopher And His Kind, before returning to South Wales in July to begin production on Series 6 of Doctor Who.

I hope we shouldn’t be reading anything into the lack of an appearance by Karen Gillan in the SJA episode.
I agree. I will be very upset if Amy is not back next year. I am tired on the one season companions.
I thought Karen definitely is signed up for next series. The reason she might not be in this SJA story could just be too many companions and you can’t not have Sarah (it’s her show after all) and Jo is a treat for classic Who fans. Not much room for Amy in this given you’ll likely have Luke, Clyde and Rani needing something to do as well. Amy might just be on a break like how Donna was during the episode Midnight.

im glad that SJ is gonna see the new doctor coz when david was saying bye to every1 in his own lil way…was thinkin well why hes only changing the way he looks they will still be his friends wen the doctor is matt he can still go see them its not like they 4got him n he 4got them so really glad..:D
