Freema Agyeman appeared as a guest on The Alan Titchmarsh Show earlier this afteroon to discuss her current role as Alesha Phillips in Law & Order: UK.

During the interview, the actress briefly commented on her time spent in the TARDIS as Martha Jones, admitting that she doesn’t mind being associated with the role. ”It’s definitely not a negative thing to be associated with,” she explained. ”I have been really lucky to have been in an amazingly big British institution.”

She went on to echo her previous comments regarding the future of her character.

“In terms of the world and the character, at one point I was going to Torchwood, but then Law & Order came up,” she said. ”I think as an actress you need to diversify.”
