Mark Sheppard has revealed on his Twitter that working on Doctor Who was “a dream job”.

The actor – who has previously appeared in The X-Files and 24 – will be seen guest-starring in the Series 6 opening two-parter as a character called Canton Everett Delaware III. He recently tweeted: “Dr. Who was definitely a dream job for me”, and went on to add: “Matt is my favourite Doctor.” Scenes for the episodes were filmed in Utah last year.

In related news, this recent report suggests that Mark’s father, actor W. Morgan Sheppard, will be appearing in the episodes as an older version of the same character.
