New Series 6 stills, behind the scenes shots revealed…
As the countdown to its grand premiere continues (11 days to go!), the BBC has today released a fresh batch of Series 6 episode stills and official behind the scenes photographs!
The images give us more enticing insights into the Doctor, Amy and Rory’s forthcoming adventures and, if you’re avoiding spoilers, you’ll be pleased to hear that the majority of them don’t give anything new away! However, one in particular does, so we’ve linked to that on a separate page to prevent any potentially unwanted details slipping out…
So, starting at the beginning (it’s a very good place to start!), here’s a new still from the opening two-parter, The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, in which the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River are having a conversation in the TARDIS with Canton Everett Delaware III. Below it are some new shots of the cast and crew filming in Utah!
Next up, we’ll be taking to the high seas in Episode 3, The Curse of the Black Spot, and here are two stills from the adventure, guest starring Hugh Bonneville and Lily Cole.
In at number four is the oh-so-intriguingly titled The Doctor’s Wife, featuring actress Suranne Jones as Idris, and here’s a glimpse of her mysterious character in action…
…and here she is with Matt Smith and the writer of the anticipated episode, Neil Gaiman!
Up next is the two-parter The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People by Matthew Graham…
The Doctor, Amy and Rory return on Saturday 23rd April in The Impossible Astronaut.
As mentioned at the start of the post, there’s one new image we’ve opted not to show, as some visitors might not want to see what it depicts. If you do want to, simply click here. Now, what’s going on there we wonder…

Is it just me.. or is there a lack of a ‘C’ on the chest of those Cybermen?, are they Mondas Cybermen?
More interestingly, what’s Rory doing in his Roman get up again in front of the Cybermen?
Really cannot wait for this season. Wish I could hibernate for the next two weeks to ease the agony of slowly passing time.
Hmmm…interesting . I don’t see a “C” on their chests either…It’s just a simple circle! Perhaps the Mondas cybermen have finally returned!
@Revenant
No, they are Cybermen from this universe
Unless it’s an evolution of the Cybus ones, they just decided to get rid of the C. Not sure really. The Mondas Cybermen always had the grill on their chest and were killed by gold or gold dust absorbed through said grill.
The Pandorica Opens proved that the Cybermen (in one form or another) survived in our universe, even after they were mostly destroyed by the Tenth Doctor. It wasn’t really explained. This is obviously from the episode where the set photo’s showed a Cybermat as well.
I wish they would do a proper re-design of The Cybermen, so they looked less like big toys. The idea behind them is so creepy, the way they look at the moment is not.
Agree twwl…i reckon a little more flesh would be better
