This is the TARDIS design comp from Blue Peter.
It suggests like I said in my first comment that the Doctor has to make a replacement TARDIS!!

The Rani’s just been played by Kate O’Mara in two storylines: ‘Mark of the Rani’ and ‘Time and the Rani.’
I know people assume any mysterious woman is actually the Rani, but I really don’t think so. Gaiman said it’s a character we haven’t seen since 1969’s ‘The War Games.’ And I really can’t think who it can be. As long as it’s not a previously-male Time Lord now a woman. That whole ‘Time Lords might be able to change gender’ just doesn’t gel with me.
Oh, and I think all the past console rooms mill about in the TARDIS anyway. The Fourth Doctor stumbled upon an old Victoranesque one a while back.
