Matt Smith shocked a group of fans on Friday by making a surprise visit to a performance of The Crash of the Elysium in Manchester, as BBC News reports!

The stage show, developed by the acclaimed Punchdrunk, has been described as “unforgettable” as the audience become part of the story to help save the day. “I’ve always watched Punchdrunk and marvelled at their inventiveness,” Matt said. “Put that together with Doctor Who and there is a wonderful template to tell unique stories in unique ways.”

I went to one of the adult only shows and loved every minute. It was wonderful the way grown men and women became so immersed in the story that we were arguing who had to be on the front line of defence against a certain foe in case we were ‘got’. If only Matt had been there for us!
