Yesterday, the BBC revealed lots of details about this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, and thanks to SFX we can now add its director to our pad of knowledge!

They did some investigating and found out that the festive adventure will be directed by Farren Blackburn.

He has previously worked on Holby City, Silent Witness and Survivors, as well as the new BBC Three supernatural horror series The Fades.

The special, guest starring Claire Skinner and Bill Bailey, is filming now until mid-October.
