Julie says “all options are possible” for Torchwood
Julie Gardner has been discussing the future of Torchwood with Assignment X, explaining that, while nothing has been set in stone yet, “all options are possible” for the series.
“I don’t know if there will be more,” she said. “Time will tell. It’s always had a labyrinthine history. I think it’s so elastic in some ways, and it’s had a strange life. It’s been across so many different channels and had international audiences, so there’s no single way forward for the show. All options are possible.”
Eve Myles has recently said that “there is life” left in the show, while John Barrowman thinks a movie’s the “next progression”. Where do you want to see Jack and Gwen?
If I’m honest, I want to see Jack and Gwen back in Cardiff. The international diversion was fun, but Torchwood 3 was born and bred in Cardiff, and it doesn’t feel the same without that base.
As for the actual intention of the question, well, I think the best series was Children of Earth. The over-arcing storyline worked very well, as did keeping it brief. The ten weeks of Miracle Day were far too stretched out, in my opinion. I say revert to the CoE formula, and make Torchwood week an event every year, something marvellous to look forward to.

Can’t put it better myself.
@TSG
Exactly.
WANT TORCHWOOD BACK IN WALES !!!
Miracle Day was by far , the worst season…I don’t care about the international thing…we are Viewers not traders !!!
I hope the next season of TORCHWOOD would answer remaining questions left behind from the last series , and obviously the plot will be to do with “plan B” . As far as Miracle day goes I enjoyed it , a bit disappointed with the end but with the way it was written I am confident that there will be a new series and it would make up for the anti climatic end , so a possibility with the next series becoming bigger and better is something to look forward to even though I also missed the “monster of the week format”.
Personally I hope Torchwood continues and goes back to Cardiff where it started out. I loved the show when it was over there. Not this Americanised crap they had for Miracle Day which I think sucked big time.
I would love to see it where it’s like a few years after Miracle Day and Jack decided to have the Torchwood Hub rebuilt with the help of the Doctor, Martha and others. :)
i dont care where it is set, when it is set, but go back to the old style of staying in one place, like in the hub, monitering the rift. series 1 and 2 were the strong point because that was like that. and COE was a nice twist as it wasnt like that. MD was crap though. it was too long, and did stupid things like take 3 episodes just taking down the overflow camps, just to bring them back in the next episode
@TSG
i agree with u about jack and gwen being back in cardiff i liked it when the show was set there for whole series but it is probebly unlikey :(
