According to the Mirror (we know, but what’s the harm in speculating?), David Bradley will be reprising his role as the First Doctor to share the screen with Peter Capaldi in his and Steven Moffat’s final episode.
100% unofficial at the moment, but intriguing nonetheless…

John Hurt will be reprising his role as the War Doctor for a new series of audio adventures, it has been announced today (Monday).
The veteran star of the stage and screen – who was iconically introduced as the Time Lord’s lost incarnation as part of the show’s 50th anniversary festivities in 2013 – will reclaim the spotlight in the original Big Finish range which will consist of four boxsets containing three hour-long stories each. The first, Only the Monstrous, is out in December and has been written and directed by Nicholas Briggs.
The actor, who piloted the TARDIS in the early 80’s, decided to take matters into his own hands when he was excluded from the show’s official 50th anniversary festivities by joining forces with his fellow Classic Doctors in a light-hearted spoof. The film, which was released to coincide with The Day of the Doctor, was met with a rapturous response from fans who have since been campaigning for a second installment.
“I wasn’t expecting it to have such a huge reaction,” he admitted. “I’ll do it again if I come up with a good enough idea. I wouldn’t want to go into it half-heartedly if it was going to be nowhere near as good as the first one. Plus, I’d actually have to pay people this time!”
Peter will take to the stage to present the Symphonic Spectacular in UK arenas this month.
Would you be excited about a Five(ish) Doctors sequel? Who would you like to appear in it?
Congratulations to John Hurt who has received an honourary knighthood as part of the Queen’s 2015 New Years Honours.
The actor, whose career has spanned more than five decades, has been awarded the prestigious accolade for his services to drama. He is best known to Doctor Who fans for playing the War Doctor in last year’s 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who alumni James Corden and Sheridan Smith have been made OBEs for their contribution to the arts.

Today is a special day in the Doctor’s personal calendar because it marks the anniversary of his first televised adventure, An Unearthly Child.
On this day back in 1963, at 5:16pm on BBC One, the TARDIS materialised on the small screen for the first time as viewers were given their first glimpse into the weird and wonderful world of the now iconic Time Lord.
51 years and over 800 episodes later, the series is still going strong with an estimated global audience of 70 million.
It’s also been exactly one year since The Day of the Doctor, the momentous adventure which was screened simultaneously on TV and in cinemas in over 90 countries. The 50th anniversary was a remarkable celebration and you can relive all of the festivities here.
The Doctor will be back on our screens next month but see how it all began for him below…

The BBC Two docudrama, written by Mark Gatiss, formed part of Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary celebrations when it was aired last November to critical acclaim. The 90 minute film starred David Bradley as William Hartnell and recreated the story of the show’s journey to the screen in 1963.
It has been nominated in the TV Movie category at the awards, which will take place in New York on 24th November.
